How to split an image

Cut one picture into rows and columns. Splitting runs in your browser, so the file stays on your device.

  1. 1

Select one JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or BMP, up to 25 MB, or drop it onto the page.

  2. 2

Set columns and rows, or use a preset such as 1×3. Drag the guides and zoom to check each piece.

  3. 3

Split the image and download the pieces as a ZIP. Keep the original if you may change the grid later.

Ways to use a split image

Choose the grid for where the pieces will appear. Plan the complete image first, then set rows and columns before exporting.

Social media carousel

Use 1 row and several columns, such as 1×3, to turn one wide design into a swipeable sequence. Keep key text away from cut lines.

Nine-tile profile grid

Use 3 rows and 3 columns to create nine equal tiles from one square image. Preview guides so faces, products and text do not fall across an edge.

Puzzle or collage pieces

Use a custom grid for a collage, printable game or multi-panel layout. Downloading creates a ZIP of individual files.

About us

How do the rows and columns work?

Columns split the image left to right, rows split it top to bottom. You can drag the guides before exporting so the cuts match the subject.

Split PNG

Should I split or crop the image?

Crop to keep a single frame. Split when you need several tiles, such as a carousel or a grid of pieces.

Crop Image

Should I resize before splitting?

Resize first if the full image should be a specific pixel size. Each piece then inherits that layout more predictably.

Where is the ZIP of pieces saved?

Use the download control after splitting. The browser saves the ZIP to Downloads or Files. Check permissions if the save is blocked.
