How to change image DPI

Set a new DPI value on JPG and PNG files. Pixel width and height stay the same; only the print-size tag changes. Files are uploaded when you start.

When to change DPI

Change DPI when a print workflow requests a tag such as 300 DPI. It changes intended print density, not the image pixels.

Will changing DPI make the photo sharper?

No. DPI is a print-density tag. Pixel dimensions stay the same, so blur is not repaired. Check DPI first if you only need to read the current value.

Images are uploaded only when you start the DPI change. The server returns the files and does not keep a permanent copy after the request finishes.

The tool is free and does not require an account. You can select up to 20 images, each up to 20 megapixels and 10,000 pixels per side. DPI must be between 1 and 2400.

I need a larger print. Should I change DPI or resize?

Lower DPI prints the same pixels larger, with less print density. Add pixels only by resizing or using a larger original. Check both values before printing.

Does a 300 DPI tag mean the image is print quality?

Only if the pixel size is also large enough. A small image tagged 300 DPI still prints small. For example, 3000 pixels at 300 DPI is 10 inches wide.

Should product photos use a specific DPI?

Marketplaces care more about pixel size and background than DPI. Prepare the canvas in the product image tool, then change DPI only if a printer asks for a tag.
