How to resize images

Set a width, height or percentage for JPG, PNG, GIF and SVG files. Images are uploaded only when you start resizing, and the result is returned to your browser.

    Select up to 20 JPG, PNG, GIF or SVG images, or drop them onto the page. Each file can be up to 25 MB.

    Choose pixel dimensions or 25%, 50% or 75%. Keep the aspect ratio to avoid stretching, and optionally prevent smaller images from being enlarged.

    Start resizing, then download each image. Animated GIF resizing is not available yet. Keep your original files.

Which formats can I resize?

This tool resizes JPG, PNG, GIF and SVG. Open a format page if you only have one type. Animated GIF resizing is not available yet.

What is the difference between resizing and cropping?

Resizing changes the pixel width and height of the whole image. Cropping removes parts of the frame. Use resizing for a size requirement and cropping to change composition.

How many images can I resize at once, and is it free?

Resizing is free and does not require an account. You can select up to 20 images, 25 MB each. Each image can be up to 20 megapixels and 10,000 pixels per side.

Are my images stored on the server?

Images are uploaded only when you start resizing. The server returns the result and does not keep a permanent copy after the request finishes.

Can I resize SVG files?

Yes. SVG files can be resized with the other supported formats. An SVG that contains scripts or external resources is rejected for safety.

Will an animated GIF stay animated after resizing?

Not yet. Animated GIF resizing is not available. Use a still GIF, or convert frames another way before changing the size.

Should I resize or compress an image first?

Resize when you need a specific width or height. Compress when the file is still too large after the pixel size is correct.
